  • Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary to my LOVELY WIFE!!

"Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD" Proverbs 19:14

How wonderful and true this is. Having been married for 2 years, I can say that everyday is a blessing from God that I am married to such a prudent wife! Therefore today, as we celebrate our 2nd married life at a nice and fancy restaurant, we count the wonderful memories in our marriage.

The restaurant had a good spinning salad and very juicy and tender prime rib steak. The server was very attentive and always smiling. At the end, they even gave us a cake after knowing we were celebrating our anniversary.

However, the food selection was a bit limited. For example, they only served prime rib. There was no other steak choice (e.g. sirloin, rib eye etc)

But food is second to the time that we were together to celebrate the night. Praise God!

  • Da Vinci's da MAN!

Very busy at work during the past week. I guess if I was to upload all the pics from the Paris trip, it would take me at least half the day. So, since I have a little bit of time (because the FB Pet Society app is down right now), I have selected Leonardo Da Vinci's artwork that I saw at the famous Musee de Louvre to share with you all.

It's easy to think that da Vinci is only a great painter, but actually, he is extremely famous as a mathematician, engineer, inventor etc. He even conceptualized the design of the helicopter and the tank!

    1. Mona Lisa (no need for any intro!) - I remember the commentator said that the lady's left eye was right in the center of the painting horizontally.

    2. La Vierge aux Rochers (i.e. Virgin of the Rocks) - Mary is holding Jesus while on the left, an angel is holding John the Baptist who is worshipping Jesus. Painted between 1505 and1508.

  • La France..C'est un experience extraordinaire!

Wow, after spending almost a week in Paris, I can honestly say that I have visited 90% of all the tourist sites. George Pompidou (modern art center), Louvre (Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, etc), Musee d"Invalides (Napoleon's tomb), Church of Sacred Heart, Musee d'Orsay (Picasson, Van Goh) etc etc. The list goes on and on.

Heidi, we did go to LaDuree, but when we were going to order macarons to take away, the shop counter was already closed (arrgghh!). I did decide to try the famed hot chocolate, however, I regretted it because it tasted so SWEET (it was like the cook melted a bar of chocolate and poured it into a drink!)

Did lots of window shopping at le Halles, St Germain and St Paul. I found that in Paris, there was lots of small specialty shops selling things that I never saw in HK

Another special thing about Paris is that it is such an historic city that there are so many buildings that were built in the 16th, 17th centuries and were not even mentioned in the tourist books. I really liked going inside many of the classic churches spread around Paris. Each had its own enormous church organ. But the sad thing is that most Parisiens don't go to church anymore. Many are athiests...

Dont have time to upload the pics...hope to do that in coming days.

  • Vive la France!

Arrived in Paris yesterday morning local time. Since my wife is there to do exhibition, I spent the most of the day walking around downtown Paris, including window shopping in Galeries Lafayette, walking to the Paris Opera building, around Louvre, etc. Indeed, Paris is very beautiful and historical, something that you will never see in modern and bland Hong Kong.

Today, while my wife is working again, I have decided to buy a ticket to tour Louvre for the whole day...yes, the WHOLE DAY, because there is really so many things to see. I may just sit there for half an hour staring at Mona Lisa and see if she smiles at me back!

Thanks God for giving me this vacation.

  • Meaningful Quote

"If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress." - Barack Obama

My take is that with the economy in such a poor state, there is no other way but to improve...God bless America
